Where do I go from here? That is the question I’ve been asking myself for weeks now. I no longer enjoy my job, that much I know, but what do I do next? I am pretty convinced I do not want to stay in IT, I no longer enjoy the lifestyle (does anyone?). I also happen to hate the state I live I’m for a number of reasons, most of which you can find on this blog. So, as I begin my job search, I find I do not know what to search for.
I’ve had some ideas while on this journey. I’d love to write a novel, but since my only formal training consists of this blog, and no one reads it, I cannot rely on this for sustainable income. I’ve thought about development, a field which I actually do have formal training, but I would have to go to back to entry level.
Basically, all I have so far are a couple ideas and a bunch of excuses.

Well I got out of general IT support a while ago. Now I’m manager of a group that does application level support and maintenance, kind of a step below the actual developers.
